1. What is ProAdmin?
ProAdmin has been built from the ground up for the competitive gamer.
There are many server mods out there that add a few things that would
be nice for private, competitive servers but the problem is they
often slow your server's performance and add other functionality
that shouldn't be allowed in matches, so are then deemed illegal by
leagues. ProAdmin is the solution. ProAdmin isn't a server mod
or plugin, it is instead a Java™ program hosted on our
server (so there's nothing to download and it won't slow your
server) that adds many easy-to-use yet powerful
functions. With ProAdmin, players' UniqueIDs can be checked
against CAL and CEVO databases as soon as they connect to the
server to help ensure the integrity of scrims; entire teams may be
kicked with simple say commands; UniqueIDs not even in the
server may be checked just as easily; a scorebot may be started
in the channel of your choice at any time; scores are recorded
and can be announced each round, even through halftime, to
rid any debates about current scores; and much more! ProAdmin's
many features make things simpler with some of the features
already listed as well as safer by, for example, announcing when in MatchMode
if sensitive server variables such as footsteps, cheats, stepsize,
etc. are modified.
2. How does it work?
ProAdmin listens to server logs, similar to a scorebot, and then executes
RCON commands based on what happens or what players' type. ProAdmin makes
the server more secure by allowing you the server owner to pass out the
ProAdmin authentication password without passing out RCON.
3. How do I start using ProAdmin?
You can visit
this page to setup a free trial on your server
(doesn't require any registration). The next step is to add the logaddress to your
server's config. You do that by adding a couple lines to your server.cfg file. You
will need to add the following lines to your server.cfg file:
logaddress_add 208.91.130.18 39039
log on
mp_logmessages 1
You can alternatively create and download a preconfigured server.cfg file
here and simply upload that to your server, overwriting
your current server.cfg.
4. I think I've got ProAdmin on my server,
but it doesn't respond to any commands. What's wrong?
The most common reason for this is you are not authenticated with ProAdmin and therefore
it is ignoring your commands. You can test this by using a public command (".info")
and, as long as the server is not in MatchMode, ProAdmin will print some version and contact
information. If this does nothing, ProAdmin may be in MatchMode or it may not be
running. If it does print version information, you simply need to authenticate.
Type the following line in console to authenticate (where "password" is your authentication
password):
You should then see that ProAdmin has authorized you and will now be accepting your
commands.
If you are authorized or ProAdmin is just not functioning at all, the first thing to do is
ensure your server has the logaddress added to its config.
While in the server, type the RCON command "logaddress_add" in console and see if
the IP address 208.91.130.18 and port 39039 are printed. If not, follow the steps in
How do I start using ProAdmin? to add the logaddress to your
config.
The next step would be to make sure you have an active subscription to ProAdmin by logging
into the site here and going to the Control Panel and viewing your server and verifying
that it is "active". If it is not, you will need to contact mr0ldie about getting
a subscription setup.
